Hayes resident Kevin Wilson, who has served as Gloucester County’s Commissioner of the Revenue since 2004, announced Monday that he will be retiring and not seek re-election in November.
“Everyone will reach a time they know is right to retire and I have reached that time,” Wilson said. “In 2003, when I was first elected, I created a set of objectives and timelines to complete; such which I felt was necessary in order that public policy follow best practices in taxation.”
He said, “Knowing in advance that date in which I wanted to complete those objectives I imposed upon myself term limits as without such I would achieve nothing more than good politics.”
Wilson said by the end of this year, he will have achieved all of those objectives and said he is “sincerely grateful for the honor and privilege in serving the taxpayers of Gloucester” and for being provided with the opportunity to do so in the first place.
