VDOT info meeting next week on proposed Roaring Springs Road path

The Virginia Department of Transportation will conduct a public information meeting on a proposed shared-use path or extended sidewalk on Roaring Springs Road. The meeting will be held from 5-7 p.m. next Thursday, Aug. 14, at Botetourt Elementary School.
According to a notice, VDOT will study the potential to build an extended use path for pedestrians and bicyclists along Roaring Springs Road from Wyncote Avenue to Beaverdam Park. This path, if built, would be approximately two miles long, and would be paved, according to information.

Another project on the east side of Roaring Springs Road, a sidewalk between Main Street and Route 1025, Wyn-cote Avenue, is presently in the design stage, VDOT said.
