Va. Mountain Boys to perform Saturday in Bena

Bill Jenkins and The Virginia Mountain Boys will perform at 7 p.m. Saturday at Buck’s Store Museum, Bena.Sponsored by the Guinea Heritage Association, the performance will include authentic music of the Southern Appalachian Mountains, including early bluegrass ballads and original songs.
The band is known for its unique harmonies, clever arrangements, and mandolin and banjo solos that stir the emotions and deliver a stunning musical experience, said a press release.
Bill Jenkins and the Virginia Mountain Boys have deep roots in Virginia. Bill Jenkins and Ken Worrell, both guitarists and vocalists, have played music together for over 40 years. This has included performances at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., The American Theater in Hampton, and the Paramount Theater in Charlottesville. The band is rounded out by Steve Hunley on mandolin, James Andersen on banjo, and Richard Newsome on upright bass.
