A workshop on how to make a “plarn” (plastic yarn) tote bag will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Arts on Main in Gloucester.
Instructor Gudrun Kiel-Bullock will teach students ages 16 and older how to make plarn from plastic grocery bags and weave it on a cardboard loom to make a tote bag. Materials will be provided.
Participants will need to bring sharp scissors and a wide-tooth comb or hair pick or fork. It is optional to also bring a ruler, extra plastic bags, and lunch or a snack.
The cost of the workshop is $20, with limited spaces available.
