Tickets are available for the Lancaster Virginia Historical Society’s 10th annual “Shuckin’ on the Lancaster Green” Oyster Roast on Nov. 8 and 50/50 raffle fundraisers.
Proceeds from both activities support the LVHS’s museum, library, and public programs.
The oyster roast will be held from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8 on the LVHS museum grounds in Lancaster Court House. The ticket price, which includes all food and drinks, is $65 until Oct. 18 and $70 after. Advance tickets are required. According to executive director Karen Hart, this event usually sells out and nearly half of the 150 tickets are already gone.
The menu includes steamed and raw oysters, Lancaster chicken stew, ham and bean soup, hot dogs loaded with chili and slaw, and beer, wine, and soda.
Acoustic guitar duo Toby Calloway and Larry Heatwole of Gloucester will perform light rock and soft country favorites, a release said.
