Sunny skies, cold breeze dominate Daffodil Festival

The 40th annual Gloucester Daffodil Festival, “Anchored in Tradition,” welcomed a crowd of approximately 25,000 over two days. Visitors, vendors and volunteers alike enjoyed sunny skies and prevailed through a cold breeze throughout the festival. Gloucester High School senior Hannah Symonds was crowned the 2026 Gloucester Daffodil Queen during the festival’s opening ceremonies Saturday morning. Kate Hunter and Har-per Zahm were selected as this year’s Junior Miss and Little Miss, respectively, on Sunday. In vendor awards, Dye Happy was selected as the queen’s choice; Barefoot Wood Crafts won Best in Show for Original Hand Craft; Greg’s Garden received second place in Original Hand Craft; Checked Rabbit took third for Original Hand Craft; Elliot Art was named Best in Show for Fine Arts; Analog Artworks placed second in Fine Arts; and Bay Artist Collection took third in Fine Arts.
