Peter Ramundo of Manhattan, Kansas, and Charlotte Schuff of Hampton, were the top male and female finishers in Sunday morning’s Daffodil Dash 5K, a race conducted by the Peninsula Track Club.
The 5K course was an out-and-back on Ware House Road and is not USATF certified, but was accurately measured and was run correctly by the runners, according to the Peninsula Track Club.
A total of 213 runners and walkers entered the 5K race, with 199 participants completing the 5K. Awards went to the top overall three men and women and the top two in each age group.
Ramundo was the first across the line in a time of 18:16, with Schuff finishing the race in 20:36. Nicholas Schuff of Hampton (18:35, second place, men), Alexey Popov (19:58, third place, men); 14-year-old Josephine Wilson of Gloucester (23:21, second place, women) and Marie Giles (23:22, third place, women) were the other top overall finishers.
Earning medals in their age groups included:
Men 19 and under: Carter Symonds (first place, 23:43) and Robby Woodburn (second place, 26:42).
Men 20-29: Kirby Gross (first place, 26:33) and Christopher Robins (second place, 27:08).
Men 30-39: Blake Overholt (first place, 22:11) and Terran Copeland (second place, 22:46).
Men 40-49: Mike Symonds (first place, 23:24) and Geoff Sheaffer (second place, 25:28).
Men 50-59: Dean Dorsey (first place, 24:25) and Steve Sechriest (second place, 29:10).
Men 60-69: John David Sparrer (first place, 29:04) and Mark Laguardia (second place, 29:54).
Men 70 and over: Karl Ellcessor (29:35).
Women 19 and under: Valerie Brandenberger (first place, 32:20) and Ady Jeffrey (second place, 33:28).
Women 20-29: Rileigh Betz (first place, 23:37) and Meg Teagle (second place, 26:24).
Women 30-39: Erin Fryer (first place, 25:44) and Laken Mitchell (second place, 26:38).
Women 40-49: Kari Sheaffer (first place, 23:51) and Karen Sanzo (second place, 24:00).
Women 50-59: Amy McLeod (first place, 26:13) and Brenda Gonzalez (second place, 31:32).
Women 60-69: Terumi Laguardia (first place, 25:45) and Susan McVaney (second place, 43:59).
Women 70 and over: Carol Hansen-Vessa (first place, 29:44) and Carolyn Insley (second place, 55:48).
