Steele addresses misconceptions on Gloucester’s bond issue

After two town hall meetings on the upcoming bond referendum, Gloucester County Administrator Carol Steele has heard the diverse voices of the people.

Among those voices, she said, are those who may not have all of the facts to formulate well-informed stances on the referendum and she is eager to clear up those misconceptions.

Both those for and those against the referendum have been vocal on the subject. Steele said in those groups there is misinformation being spread about the projects and the county. She said she welcomes the opportunity to clarify any misinformation as she believes a well-informed community will better reflect its will on Election Day.

She said a lot of people ask if the two fire department projects included in the referendum could be funded without raising taxes.
