The Virginia State Golf Association sponsored a one-day tournament for both men and women at the James River Country Club in Newport News on Nov. 10. There were over 80 participants in this individual stroke play event. Several members of the Piankatank Ladies Golf Association participated. Two members played exceptionally well in the ladies flight with Nina Carter, right, winning 1st gross and Vicky Gunn placing 2nd net, left.
