Stamp design winner

Petsworth Elementary School students competed in the Daughters of the American Revolution’s Junior American Citizens Stamp Design Contest. This year’s theme was “The 200th Anniversary of the Santa Fe Trail Moving the Stars and Stripes Westward.” Students competed at multiple levels to create a stamp that matched the contest theme. Fourth grader Heaven’Ly Wilson placed first at the local, regional and state levels, and placed third in the nation for her stamp design. She earned several certificates, pins and a medal for her work. Wilson is shown here with Petsworth Instructional Technology Resource teacher Hannah Cramer.
