Mathews High School will celebrate its 2026 homecoming on Friday with a parade, band performance, crowning of the king and queen and culminating in the evening’s homecoming dance. The parade will go through Mathews Court House beginning at 4 p.m. Leading this year’s parade will be teacher John Corrigan. Corrigan, the current MHS and division teacher of the year, heads up the school’s English department and coaches the MHS Scholastic Bowl team. The MHS Marching Band will perform on the field at 6 p.m., along with the crowning of this year’s king and queen, with the dance from 8-10 p.m. Saturday.
