School board makes personnel appointments

The Gloucester School Board approved several personnel appointments during its monthly meeting May 9 in the T.C. Walker Education Center auditorium.

Emma Volpe of Gloucester Point and Kerianna Hacker of Hayes were appointed to paraprofessional positions at Abingdon Elementary School, effective April 24 and May 1, respectively. Also for this school year, William Skinner was reassigned from a bus assistant position to a bus driver position, effective April 1.

The school board made the following appointments effective for the 2023-2024 school year:

Sara Hammack of Bunn, North Carolina, was appointed to a school counselor position at Gloucester High School; Erica Harvey of Shackelfords was appointed to a fourth grade teaching position at Achilles Elementary School; Amanda Scott of Gloucester was appointed to a science teaching position at Page Middle School; Sherrye Lovelace of Alva, Oklahoma, was appointed to the assistant principal position at Achilles; Betty Brown of Randolph,...
