Road work finishing up in Gloucester Court House

Crews have put some finishing touches to road improvements in Gloucester Court House recently, said Tina Bundy, a spokesperson for the Virginia Department of Transportation.

While some punch list items such as grading were completed at several intersections on Monday, Bundy said rain hindered any work being completed Tuesday.

VDOT has decided to halt further work there until early January, when some final pavement markings and markers will be placed, she said.

Meanwhile, crews recently completed paving on an approximately 4½-mile stretch on northbound lanes of Route 17, Bundy said, from just north of Route 606 at Ark to about one mile north of Route 610 near Woods Cross Roads. Pavement marking will be completed in January.

Crews began milling that section of Route 17 the week before Thanksgiving, VDOT officials said, and also worked in November on a milling and paving project on the entire length of Main Street.
