Georgia R. Kensler of Mathews, stepped into the presence of Jesus on Tuesday, July 16, 2013.
She was a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be greatly missed. She was born Oct. 7, 1919 in Zanesfield, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Bertha Reams; a brother, Franklin Reams, and two sisters, Helen Foulk and Dolores Marmon.
She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Donald J. Kensler; four children, Shirley Faison (Bob) of Newport News, Carole Martin (Pat) of Williamsburg; Fred Kensler (Linda) of Zanesfield, Ohio, and Jean Hall (Don) of Mathews; a sister, Gloria Fitzpatrick of Hyndman, Pa., and numerous nieces and nephews. She also leaves 11 grandchildren, Barbara Diggs, Josh Diggs, Joy Martin, Donald Mickelborough, Amy Cox, Michelle Guba, Dedra Keoshian, Jarrod Fitzpatrick, Brandon Fitzpatrick, Brad Fitzpatrick and Trevor Fitzpatrick. She leaves 11 great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; 22 step-great-grandchildren, and four step-great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Saturday in Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews.
Services will be conducted by her son, the Rev. Fred R. Kensler, at Central United Methodist Church, Mathews, on Sunday, July 21 at 2 p.m. Interment will be private.
