Raising funds for a parsonage

The ladies of Mathews Methodist Circuit will give an entertainment at the parsonage Sept. 29, beginning at 6 p.m., with supper and light refreshments on the lawn. Proceeds for the benefit of the new parsonage. If Thursday is inclement come Friday.

Mt. Wyatt Wolffe leaves today for Baltimore where he goes to buy fall goods for his store here. Mr. Wolffe has recently added to the appearance and convenience of his store house by building a large piece on the back.

Botetourt High School opened Monday with a record-breaking enrollment, having 180 present at opening. Principal Catesby G. Jones and faculty have entered into the organization of the grades with much enthusiasm.
