Gloucester Parks, Recreation and Tourism is sponsoring a Best Years Trip next week to explore the 50 acres of gardens at the Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens in Richmond.
The trip will leave Gloucester at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 10, and return at 3 p.m. Participants will have three hours to roam the gardens, enjoy lunch on site (on your own) and explore the plant collections. The fee is $30; participants must sign up by today.
STURGEON MOON PADDLE: Gloucester PRT is sponsoring a Sturgeon Moon Paddle from 8-10 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 11, at Beaverdam Park. Those under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Meet at the main entrance. The fee $5/person with your equipment or $15/person with rental equipment (rentals arrive early for fitting). Today is the deadline to sign up.
FALL YOUTH SOCCER: Sunday is the deadline to register for youth fall soccer for ages 3-14, as of Sept. 30, 2022. The fee is $27 for 3-year-olds (Sept. 20-Oct. 20) and $47 for ages 4-12 (Sept. 6-Nov. 5).
