The Piankatank River Ladies Golf Association held a “Throw Out The Worst 3 Holes” competition on Aug. 18 at the Hartfield course. Winners were:

First flight—Nina Carter (first place, 62), Christi Lewis (second place, 68) and Nancy Pannell (third place, 70). Second flight—Bobbie Stuck (first place, 71), Lisa Lavery (second place, 73) and Chong Hudgins (third place, 79). Third flight—Mary Edmonds (first place, 81), Karen Gorin (second place, 84) and Kayce Turner (third place, 85).
