Members of the Piankatank River Ladies Golf Association won first place in the ladies’ division in a benefit tournament held at the Williamsburg National Golf Club on May 9. The fundraising tournament benefited the Avalon Center, a nonprofit organization providing support and resources while working to end domestic violence.

The winning foursome was Vicky Gunn of Cobbs Creek, Christy Pitts of Deltaville, Nina Carter of Gloucester and Martha Wiggs of Hayes. Gunn also won the closest to the pin contest for the ladies.

Nine and Wine

In other news from the Piankatank River Golf Club, the Nine and Wine Tournament was held Saturday, May 6’ at the Hartfield course.

Don Delagrange and Sandy Delagrange were mixed flight winners. Michael Carter and Doug Gennes were men’s flight winners.
