Places of interest for Garden Week

There are several places of interest visitors of this year’s Historic Garden Week in Gloucester can visit. Historic Gloucester Village and Main Street The buildings of the Court Circle at the north end of Gloucester’s Main Street are classic examples of early Virginia government seat and village. The 1776 colonial courthouse is still in use today and the 1823 debtor’s prison is one of only three remaining in the state. In the late 1920s, the newly formed Garden Club of Gloucester advocated and raised funds for the construction of the brick wall that surrounds the court circle.
