The Gloucester Outlaws 12U football team defeated Essex, 36-0, Saturday night. D.J. Briggs started the game with a 60-yard touchdown in the first quarter. Camden Johnson followed his teammate’s feat with a 30-yard touchdown. Cameron West and Blake Custer both scored extra points in the end zone. Defense held the Essex at bay to achieve a shutout match. Briggs went on to score three additional touchdowns in the win. The Outlaws 6U flag football team lost its match to Essex, 18-6, over the weekend. The Outlaws held Essex to a 6-6 tie until halftime with Lincoln Burton scoring Gloucester’s only touchdown. Sam Wallis, Beckham Leftwich, Liam Santiago, Jeremiah “JJ” Lewis and Tripp Lapp helped to move the ball down the field for the Outlaws....
