The Old Fellas Fishing Club held a tournament on May 3 at the Beaverdam Park Reservoir. The first-place winner was Chris Eckstein, above. His three-fish bag limit weighed 13.49 pounds. Chris also won big fish category with a 4.82-pound largemouth bass. The second-place winner, Neal Robinson, had a three-fish limit with a bag weight of 10.87 pounds. May has started off well for anglers at Beaverdam, with catches of largemouth bass, chain pickerel and black crappie reported, according to park ranger Elizabeth Keefer. The park is open daily from 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. through Labor Day. Watercraft is available to rent, with bait and concessions for sale. For more information, call 804-693-2107.
