Nurtury co-owners publish young adult fantasy book

Alexis and Sean Powell II, co-owners of The Nurtury which is located on Gloucester Main Street, published their book “The Tales of the Hedge Twins” in May.

The siblings got the idea to co-write a book four years ago while hiking in the Appalachian Mountains with their mother, Loree Powell. Each said they could not finish a story on their own so their mother suggested that they write one together. Alexis and Sean started writing that very night and used their different ways of seeing the world to write their book.

“The Tales of the Hedge Twins” is about siblings Grizzles and Hedgehog who go on a journey to figure out their place in the world. The story alternates between the perspectives of Grizzles, the blunt warrior, and Hedgehog, the kind healer.In the young adult fantasy book, the twins teach each other lessons and even bring a goat along for the journey, who serves as comic relief for the story.
