Colby G. Finkley, a Warsaw-based author and founder of Groovy SuperSwag Media, has kept building his creative work while recovering from multiple surgeries. Finkley recently shared part of that comeback in a sponsored RVA TODAY interview on 12 On Your Side. His latest work, “Clever Pro Se & The Super Lawyer,” is a published, black-led legal-fantasy series collected across six episodes. Now he is working to bring the books to more readers through author conversations, speaking appearances and book signings. The series blends HBCU pride, family legacy, legal self-advocacy, humor and a small intelligent robot in an imaginative courtroom world. Finkley hopes to develop it for a live-action and animation screen adaptation someday; for now, his focus is sharing the books and encouraging others to keep creating through setbacks.
