Naval battles topic of upcoming program

A discussion of naval battles and British raiding parties on the Rappahannock River during the War of 1812 will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, May 18, at Millmont, 987 Mill Wharf Road, Wake.
Stuart L. Butler, former assistant branch chief of the Military Archives Division of the National Archives and author of “Defending the Old Dominion: Virginia and its Militia in the War of 1812,” will be the speaker in the program, one in a series of events sponsored/endorsed by the Middlesex County 250 Committee that is exploring the history and the promises of the American Revolution.
