Mathews High School junior harpist Aiden Sowers and senior tuba player Bradyn Barr, from left, qualified for Senior Regional Orchestra at auditions this past weekend. Both students auditioned against students from throughout the region, which ranges from Williamsburg to Chesapeake and Virginia Beach, and both placed first in their section. They will travel to Chesapeake in December to perform in the event. Both have also qualified to audition for All-State Band and Orchestra.
