The Mathews Outdoor Club has several upcoming races and tournaments, beginning with the Gwynn’s Island Race on April 27. The Gwynn’s Island Race will feature a four-mile run, 10- mile ride, run/ride duathlon and a 1.31-mile micro half on April 27, beginning at 8 a.m.

All participants will receive a commemorative T-shirt and finisher medal. Top finishers in the run, ride and combo will be recognized, along with age group categories for each event. Solar power hula dancers will also be awarded. Race costs vary.

The next Coastal Virginia Kickball Tournament will be held on May 18 at the Mathews Little League fields. The cost is $25 per player and each team needs a minimum of 10 players. Open to ages 14 and older. Registration closes on May 3.

MOC will hold its micro triathlon series June 15 and July 20 at Williams Wharf. Register for one for $30 or both for $50. The open water swim is 0.2 miles, the bike leg is eight miles and the run portion is two miles. Anyone completing o...
