Micro Tri Series ends Aug. 20

The final event in the Mathews Outdoor Club’s four-part Mathews Micro Tri Series will be held on Saturday, Aug. 20, at Williams Wharf in Mathews.

The micro triathlon consists of the same components as a regular triathlon—swim, bike and run—with much shorter distances for all three of those legs. The open water swim is a quarter of a mile, the bike leg is 8 miles and the run portion is 2 miles. The race is suited for beginners looking for their first race, and for experienced triathletes looking to fine tune their skills.

Race day check-in starts at 7:30 a.m. Participants should be ready to go for the swim start at 8. The cost to register is $30.

Series awards are presented after the Aug. 20 final event. The top prize will be awarded to the fastest overall finisher (time combined for all events).
