Led by the Deagle twins—Alexis and Cody—and a group of tough underclassmen, Mathews High School grapplers went 2-0 at Northumberland in a season-opening tri-meet last Wednesday. The Devils shut out the host Indians, 72-0, and took down Franklin, 54-30. The JV wrestlers went 6-7 on the night. The Blue Devils were scheduled to travel to Warwick this Wednesday to take on Warwick and Phoebus. Here, MHS sophomore Mikey Ray is shown pinning his Northumberland opponent.
