After a week off, the Mathews High School football team returns to the gridiron on Friday, when the Devils scrimmage at home with a team from the Central Virginia Homeschool Athletic Association, starting at 7 p.m.
The Devils (0-1) will play its next regular season game on Friday, Oct. 11. That game, also at Ken Brown Field, will be against the King and Queen Tigers.
