MHS harriers win at home

The Mathews High School boys’ and girls’ cross country teams gained another win at a home meet last Wednesday, Oct. 12, at Beaverdam Park, Gloucester.

Seth James finished first overall with a time of 17:48, followed by Gavin Dustin who placed second overall with a time of 18:09. Next for the Mathews boys was Salvador Cardenas with a time of 18:21, followed by Jaxon McDonald (18:38), Carlos Clayborn (JV) (19:09), Jon Jenkins (19:16), Blake Hunley (19:30), Andrew Greve (19:31), Chance Higginbotham (19:35), Adam Dustin (19:52), Noah Hurst (20:12), Zachary Salvadori (JV) (20:29), Elias Hidalgo (21:17), Ivan Schaible (22:15), Brayden Larson (22:45), Hunter Horsley (JV) (23:08), Adam Greve (JV) (23:38), James Morgan (JV) (24:07) and Corey Zheng (JV) (25:28).

The boys finished the meet with a team score of 22.
