MHS golf beats West Point

The Mathews High School golf team earned its first win of the season last week on Aug. 23 against West Point, 214-250. Senior Thomas Hubbard led the MHS team with a low score of 42 in the nine-hole match. Senior Dawson Adams followed with a score of 52,

Senior Ethan Long shot a 57, while seniors Connor Beattie and Aidan West both had 63. On Monday, Aug. 29, the Mathews team lost to Middlesex 184-207. Again, Hubbard led the team with a low score of 45 in the nine-hole match. Long had a 52, while both Beattie and West shot a score of 55.

The MHS golf was scheduled to play King William High School on Wednesday at Queenfield Golf Club.
