MHS girls’ basketball

The Mathews High School girls returned to the basketball court just before the Thanksgiving break with a pre-season scrimmage on Tuesday, Nov. 23, against Tabb. On Monday, the MHS girls traveled to Lancaster to take on the Red Devils in the varsity season opener. Mathews won the opener, 57-24. Mathews JV and varsity were scheduled to travel on Wednesday night to Essex to face the Trojans. On Friday, the MHS girls host West Point, with the JV game starting at 5:30 p.m. On Monday, the Devils will travel to Rappahannock.
