MHS baseball

The Mathews High School varsity baseball team beat King and Queen by a 10-0 margin Tuesday in a five-inning home game. Justin Jones was the winning pitcher, holding the visiting Tigers to one hit. Colin Moore closed the fifth inning, striking out the side. Jones was 3-for-3 at the plate and scored two runs. Moore had two hits and two RBIs. Dawson Adams went 2-for-2 with a triple. Thomas Hubbard had four RBIs. Bryce West had a triple and two RBIs. Noah Wright and Aidan West had one RBI each. Above, West takes a cut at the ball. The Blue Devils host Charles City today.
