The Guinea Heritage Association will dedicate its new Watermen’s Memorial at 3 p.m. Sunday at Buck’s Store Museum in Bena.
The memorial was created to honor the men and women working on the water. Guinea Heritage Association commissioned The Village Blacksmith to create the ship wheel and anchor out of metal. The monument itself was completed under the direction of Hogg Funeral Home, David Bristow and Adam Taylor; along with the Memorial Monument committee.
The memorial sits just outside of Buck’s Store Museum and everyone is invited to the dedication ceremony. Plans are also underway to add landscaping and a mural for people to come visit....
