Mathews YMCA to host osteoporosis education session next week

The Mathews Family YMCA will present an educational program titled “Debunking the 7 Myths of Osteoporosis” at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14. The event is free and open to the public, including both members and non-members. The session will be led by Susan Brady, MPT, Integrative Health & Nutritionist, and will address common misconceptions about osteoporosis and bone health. Participants will learn evidence-based strategies for reducing fracture risk and maintaining strong bones through nutrition, movement, digestion, stress management, and appropriate supplementation. Osteoporosis is a condition that weakens bones and increases the risk of fractures, particularly among older adults. This program aims to provide accurate information and practical steps for prevention and management.
