Mathews Memorial Library, Main Street, has five holiday-themed programs on the horizon.
Join the library on Sunday, Dec. 7 from 1-3 p.m. to “Deck the Halls.” Help decorate seven trees representing seasons past in Mathews County. Enjoy music of the season and holiday refreshments.
The Virginia Symphony Orchestra’s Ambrosia Quartet will perform holiday music at the library on Dec. 8, beginning at 7 p.m. Enjoy the music, as well as traditional holiday treats.
Children ages six to 12, as well as teens, are invited to create their own Christmas stocking on Dec. 12 at 3:15 p.m. The necessary materials will be provided. A prize will be awarded for the most creative stocking in several age categories. Festive treats and hot chocolate will be served.
The library will host Santa Claus on Dec. 16 at 6 p.m. for a special Christmas story time event. All children are invited to wear their pajamas, bring a blanket and a favorite stuffed animal to listen to holiday stories. Cookies and hot chocolate w...
