The Mathews Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing at 7 o’clock tonight on the county’s proposed $23.94 million Fiscal Year 2013–2014 budget in the historic courthouse.

No changes in real estate or personal property tax rates are proposed in the new budget, which reflects an overall 1.19 percent increase over the current budget.

The document includes the Mathews County Public School system’s $12.79 million budget, the $1.67 million Social Services budget, and the county administration’s $9.48 million budget, which is a 1.08 percent decrease from the current budget.
