Mathews baseball

Mathews High School junior Noah Wright hits a grounder in Tuesday’s baseball game against Christchurch School. MHS fell to the visiting Seahorses by an 11-9 margin. Mathews was leading 4-1 going into the top of the fifth when CCS exploded for seven runs. Dawson Adams went 2-for-2, scored two runs and had three stolen bases. Thomas Hubbard was 3-for-4 with an RBI. Timmy Dehoux had a double and two RBIs. In other action this past week, Mathews lost on the road in another non-conference game to Northumberland, 12-4. Northumberland scored six runs in the sixth inning, as walks and errors cost the Devils. Dehoux was 3-for-4; Adams was 2-for-3 and Aidan West was 3-for-4 at the plate. The 0-3 Devils will look to get in the win column today, Thursday, March 23, with a contest against Westmoreland High School.
