A watercolor painting by Mathews artist Bob Haynes is the only local entry accepted in the Virginia Watercolor Society’s 39th Annual Exhibition, which will be on display Sept. 7-Oct. 7 at Olin Hall Galleries, Roanoke College, Salem.

His entry is a 21” by 17” watercolor titled “Full Moon.”

According to a press release, the statewide juried exhibition showcases 100 of Virginia’s best water media paintings in a wide variety of subjects and styles. The works represent beauty, experimentation, innovation, and creativity in watercolor.

Nationally known artist Kathleen Conover is the juror for the show, which features a top prize of $1,500.
