The Hatchery to host Empty Bowls event Oct. 24

The Hatchery is hosting a paint-your-own pottery Empty Bowl event from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24, at 425 Callis Wharf Road, Grimstead. It will benefit the Bay School Community Arts Center and Hands Across Mathews.Guests will choose a two-hour painting session between noon and 5 p.m. and be invited to paint at The Hatchery’s waterfront picnic tables while having a glass of wine and a complimentary cup of stew. Outdoor heaters will be available.Tickets are $65 for one person, $120 for a couple, or $330 for a table of six. Each ticket includes a pottery bowl, all painting supplies, one wine ticket per person, stew, and free admission to the Empty Bowls event at Bay School Community Arts Center on Dec. 13, where guests will pick up their glazed and fired bowls and be served a complimentary bowl of soup.Fifty percent of the proceeds will benefit Bay School and 50 percent will benefit Hands Across Mathews.What is Empty Bowls?Empty Bowls is a community-centered fundraiser designed t...
