For many authors, the hardest question comes after the manuscript is finished: Who is going to read it? From 1-3 p.m. Saturday, the Chesapeake Bay Writers will offer Marketing Matters for Authors, an afternoon of free workshops in Williamsburg, designed to help writers move beyond simply having a book to actively building an audience for it. The two-hour program will bring together practical approaches to publicity, personal branding, online marketing, and face-to-face promotion. Narielle Living of Blue Fortune Enterprises will focus on building an author’s public presence. She will explore branding and social media marketing, making effective in-person presentations, developing a TED-style talk, and creating opportunities for book signings and other promotional appearances. M.L. Brei of Meripoint Books & Writing Corner will concentrate on the tools authors need to present themselves and their books professionally.
