Longtime employee purchases Mathews Pharmacy

 Longtime Mathews Pharmacy employee Lynette Glockner, RPh, has purchased the business from former owners Christy and Wayne Brown.

The pharmacy will continue to operate as before, said Glockner. Once the transfer is complete and things have settled down, she plans to become more involved in the Mathews community, especially helping to educate the public about such issues as the opioid epidemic, how to take medications properly, and how to dispose of them properly when they’re no longer necessary.

Glockner began her pharmaceutical career in her native Ohio, working for Revco and then CVS for 18 years. She transferred to CVS in Williamsburg when she and her family moved there in 2004, and then transferred to the CVS in Kilmarnock in 2008. Shortly afterward, the family moved to Gloucester so Glockner could be closer to her work.
