Some residents have received multiple citations for big fish from the Virginia Saltwater Fishing Tournament as related in the Sept. 28 report in vasaltwaterjournal.com.
Maurice W. Ruckman of Gloucester, caught a 3-pound pompano, measuring 18.25 inches, on Sept. 17 at the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel. Ruckman also received a citation for the catch of a 14-pound, 7-ounce sheepshead caught Sept. 21 in the Chesapeake Bay.
Timothy D. Rivera of Gloucester, earned a release citation for a 52-inch red drum caught Sept. 16 at Back River. He also received citations for a 15-pound, 2-ounce sheepshead and 11-pound, 4-ounce sheepshead caught that day, also at Back River.
Jami Williams of Hayes, caught a citation 10-pound, 14-ounce sheepshead and a second citation sheepshead, 11 pounds, on Sept. 18 in Mobjack Bay.
Also, James Aaron Greene of Hayes, caught a 48-pound, 2-ounce golden tilefish at Norfolk Canyon on Sept. 18.
