Citation catches for several local fishermen were listed in the most recent update of the 2021 Virginia Saltwater Fishing Tournament log.
They include Jeffrey Hunter of Gloucester, a 5-pound, 12-ounce speckled trout caught Nov. 6 in the Piankatank River; James R. Williams Jr. of Gloucester, a 5-pound, 8-ounce speck caught Nov. 14 in the Piankatank; Robert James Matney of Gloucester, a 6-pound, 12-ounce speck caught Dec. 3 in the Piankatank; and for master sheepshead angler William Horsley of Gloucester, another citation fish caught in Mobjack Bay Aug. 14 and weighing 10 pounds, 3 ounces.
