Local agencies receive tourism grant funds

Gloucester Parks, Recreation and Tourism, and the Virginia Campground Association, based in Hayes, were two of the 161 programs across the commonwealth to receive Virginia Tourism Corporation Recovery Marketing Leverage Program grants, announced Monday by Gov. Ralph Northam.

Each received $10,000 through the program; Gloucester PR&T received its grant for “Visit Gloucester: For History, For Beauty, For Fun!” while the Virginia Campground Association’s grant was for its 2021 Digital Directory marketing program.

Additionally, $10,000 grants went to the Middle Peninsula Planning District Commission for “Shucking Awesome! Paddle and Pub Crawl” and Middlesex County for “Spring Road Trip to Virginia’s River Realm featuring the Four Middlesex Small Towns.”
