LILI M. JORDAN

On Tuesday, April 27, 2021, Lili M. Jordan, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away at the age of 76. She resided in Mathews County and was the widow of the late Sheriff K. Hugh Jordan Jr., retired. Lili was born on October 1, 1944. She was a woman of strength and character, a fabulous cook and ceramic artist. Lili loved her special cat, Abby, and found yellow roses to be particularly lovely. Her fondness for Clint Eastwood, whom she affectionately called “Clint Baby,” was known to all. A favorite pastime was looking out of her sunroom at the beauty of the East River. Lili led a fulfilling life serving the community as a deputy of the Mathews County Sheriff’s Office and later as a manager for the Dollar General Corporation. She was a pillar for the family, supporting their endeavors and encouraging them to forge their own path in life. She loved her family, especially visiting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Lili was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Lillian Shaw, and her husband, Hugh. She is survived by her children, James A. “Jimbo” Croxton III (Kim) and Wendy J. Harris (Trey); grandchildren, Tiffany Bogden (Eric), Jordan Harris (Marcus), Ethan Hurst, and Kendra Harris. She has two great-grandchildren, Bennett and Olivia, and expecting a third, Camryn, in June.
