Letter: U.N. tentacles reaching into local communities

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

In response to the letter from David Evans (Aug. 25, "Coverage of Agenda 21 issue questioned") scoffing at the concern of local citizens confronting Agenda 21, I would suggest Mr. Evans do further investigation into the tentacles of the extreme environmentalist movement of the U.N. Known by any number of names in various developed countries, there is a concerted effort to sneak into your community, to take away your property rights, and to "help you make the right choices." Anyone who is not outraged, and frankly, scared, is either not informed or doesn’t love liberty! The truth is "You can ignore reality, but you cannot ignore the consequences of ignoring reality."

Resources abound. An Amazon search produces 346 books on Agenda 21. A good place to start is with the U.N.’s own publication, "Our Global Neighborhood," or even just the U.N. documentation on Agenda 21. Google "U.N. Agenda 21"—30,500,000 results pop up in less than a quarter of a second! Sites from all over the world will be at your fingertips. Just a taste:

In this information age, not being informed is inexcusable.

While I find it reprehensible to belittle people for their ignorance or misinformation, could it be Mr. Evans who has membership in the Flat Earth Society? If not, I hope we see him at the Concerned Citizens’ meeting at the American Legion in Hudgins on Sept. 20.
