Letter: The recipe for a successful fundraiser

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

This year, the Ware River Circle of The King’s Daughters and Sons (WRCKDS) Christmas Open House was held at the Exchange. Proceeds from the Christmas Open House benefit the Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters and Ronald McDonald House. The event was a tremendous success made possible with the help of many key ingredients!

—Start with the hard work of Circle members who prepared food, decorated the home with fresh floral arrangements and prepared for the tour. The home was bustling with attendees in festive attire who enjoyed good food and drink and a historic glimpse of a c. 1720 home. We want to thank Dr. and Mrs. David Muron, owners of the Exchange, for allowing the WRCKDS to use their home for the tour.

—Add to that the critical part media played in informing the public about the event. We thank the press for publishing recipes and taking the time to come on site to take photos and write articles regarding the event.
