Many times people are quick to criticize when something goes wrong, but silent when something thoughtful is done. The Virginia Department of Transportation has maintained our roads in excellent condition throughout the year.

This summer, VDOT deposited a chemical that controls the dust on gravel roads. Before the chemical was spread, Hogges End Lane in Hayes was a dusty road, with the dust collecting on houses, cars, plants, boats, and even infiltrating into the interior of cars. I want to thank VDOT for making this gravel lane a pleasant, dust-free drive to and from our homes.
