Letter: Movement’s fear and paranoia know no bounds

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

Mr. Edwards’s letter of Feb. 17 (Readers Write, "Green Earth deception") was illuminating in that it revealed something about one type of folk that the Tea Party movement attracts. It seems the fall of the Soviet Union has left those individuals with no convenient evil power upon which to focus their paranoid delusions. The displaced Birchers were left with a void desperately needing to be filled. In place of Stalin, we now have the "satanic environmentalists" conspiring to take over the world by infiltrating the U.N. Yet another insidious plot!

This addiction to fear and paranoia has no bounds. They have seen fit to attack conscientious people willing to take on the challenges of our failing environment as occultist dupes one week and socialists the next.
